The spacious kitchen offers 2 large refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, an electric stove, separate ice maker, as well as all small appliances you will find necessary for your stay. Throughout the cabinets, you will find cookware, dinnerware, glassware, eating utensils etc to perfect your beachside meals. The large granite island provides seating for 6. Guests can unwind in the well-appointed main living area or dine indoors at the formal table with seating for 10. On the upper level of our home, you can take in the beautiful sunsets while you dine and grill your favorite seaside meal on the available gas grill. Situated on the main floor of the home you will find the laundry room with one washer and two dryers for guest’s use. As an extra amenity to our guests; all bath and bed linens are provided by The Shooting Star.
We just ask upon your departure that you remove bed linens from each bed and place in the laundry room for our cleaning service. Throughout the home, you will find smart televisions for you to log on to your personal streaming accounts to rest and enjoy your favorite programs. If streaming is not your “thing” you will find an extensive library of movies and board games on the main floor in the media room.
The Shooting Star also offers cable service and high-speed WIFI to our guests while they stay. As you head downstairs to the basement, you will find a poker table for gaming, a bar area complete with mini fridge and seating for 3, and another area to kick back and watch TV or your favorite movie. When ready to take on the outdoors you will be greeted by our large pool and ample Adirondack seating for absorbing the Outer Banks sun.
Also located on our large pool deck is a 6 person hot tub for use. Pool and hot tub service providers will be out during your stay to properly maintain clean standards of both. If the shade is something you prefer you may choose to spend some time in our comfy hammock located on the mid-level wrap around deck. When you head into the garage you will find an array of available gear for our visitors to use during their stay. Guests are welcome to use pool floats, sand toys, athletic equipment, beach chairs, and bikes. We ask that anything that you take to the beach is rinsed of sand and salt water and returned neatly to the garage post use. You will notice that just outside the garage there is an outdoor shower. We request that guests use this shower before entering pool or home after trips to the beach.
Upon departure of the home we ask that guests empty all trash to the bins located outside, clean out refrigerator from any foods that may spoil, load and run dishwashers with all remaining dishes to be cleaned, set temperature to 80 degrees (cool) in the summer and 58 degrees (heat) in winter, place all outdoor furniture back in the original location it was found upon arrival, clean grill, turn off all lights in and outdoors, and wash and dry all kitchen and bath towels from stay. Final cleaning includes all linens, remaining laundry service, and traditional cleaning procedures. This service cost is $350.00 and can be paid to Mr. MacDonald by credit card or check prior to your arrival.
